Last week I fired off a number of emails to various contacts within Hampshire County Council asking them for the list of approved agencies that the Gordon Brown centre had been trying to obtain for weeks. I thought a shotgun approach would be best, ie ask lots of people and hope that one would send me the information needed!
As it was, I had 4 replies, all with a list of agencies for the GB centre to contact, which I promptly forwarded on to the management team at the GB centre.
Imagine my surprise then that I receive an email from them saying
"I am surprised and disappointed that you have chosen not to attend our October activity days with T. In this respect, I have arranged for our Accounts person to refund your payment."
I immediately telephoned and emailed them to say that I did not want a refund and that I had sent them the information they said that they needed for T to attend. I asked them why they were refunding my money when there were now no reasons for her to not be welcome at their half term activities.
My emails/call to them were last Thursday.
As I still have not had a satisfactory response, ie I still do not feel T is welcome to attend their sessions, I have today submitted a formal complaint to Brent Council.
So now it is a case of watch this space.... I will wait to see how they respond to my complaint. I dont hold out much hope tbh, but I am now feeling more relaxed about the situation.
I feel I have done EVERYTHING I can to get her to attend their sessions and if she doesnt attend it is not my fault. I have not let her down.
